Dr. Severud is a fellowship-trained and board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgery of the Shoulder, knee, hip and elbow. He is originally from Danville, California and completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Severud earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita, Kansas. He then completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy under Dr. Wesley Nottage in Laguna Hills, California.
Dr. Severud has been practicing orthopedic surgery in Hutchinson since 1999. He was one of the first orthopedic surgeons in Kansas to do arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and remains one of the few orthopedists in Kansas to do Tommy John Surgery as well as elbow arthroscopy. Outside of professional activities, Dr. Severud enjoys playing golf, tennis, skiing and hiking.

Stephanie is a board certified Physician Assistant who has been working alongside Dr. Severud since 2011. She has degrees from Fort Hays State in Biology and Colby Community College in Physical Therapy Studies. She worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant for 5 years at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. Stephanie found medicine to be very intriguing and decided to go back to school to further her education at Wichita State University. She
graduated with honors in 2004 with her degree as a Physician Assistant. She worked for 7 years in Family Medicine at The Medical Center before changing her focus to Orthopedics.
Stephanie was born and raised in Hays, KS. She is married and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys golf, attending KU basketball games and loves going to concerts in her free time. Stephanie is active in her community and was named Reno County Big Sister of the Year in 2011.
